Reported and wrote a number of posts for the Times’ New York City’s blog, including on local rallies in support of the Egyptian Revolution, New York Muslims’ response to the killing of Osama bin Laden, discrimination in drug arrests by the NYPD, Occupy Wall Street and student protests against CUNY tuition hikes.

Reported and wrote a number of breaking news stories and features in Newark and around New Jersey, with a focus on urban education, immigration and poverty. These included a story on NJ Muslims attempting to fight stereotypes, on NJ immigrants lacking health coverage, on changes to the security system of Newark public housing and on struggling programs to fight hunger in the state.
