			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Alice is a reporter based in New York City.</p>
<p>She grew up in Italy and lived in New Mexico, India, Benin, Egypt, Palestine and Haiti.</p>
<p>While studying at Columbia Journalism School, Alice covered Southeast Queens and the South Bronx. As an undergrad, she studied comparative literature and government at Harvard University. Alice has interned at <a href="http://english.aljazeera.net/">Al Jazeera English</a>, covering the United Nations, at <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/">The New Yorker</a>, working on Talk of the Town, at <a href="http://global.nytimes.com/">The New York Times</a>, writing for City Room, and on the metro desk of <a href="http://www.nj.com/">The Star-Ledger,</a> in Newark. She will spend the summer of 2012 at the London bureau of <a href="http://online.wsj.com/home-page">The Wall Street Journal</a>.</p>
<p>Alice has also lived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where she covered the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake for <a href="http://www.haitiantimes.com/">The Haitian Times</a>, <a href="http://www.afp.com/afpcom/en">AFP</a>, <a href="http://www.csmonitor.com/">The Christian Science Monitor</a> and <a href="http://global.nytimes.com/">The New York Times</a>. She returns to Haiti frequently and is available for writing assignments there as well as in the New York area. <p>When not chasing a story, Alice can be found at the NYU library, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Comparative Literature, with a focus on class, race and resistance in the Middle East, North Africa and the Americas.</p>
<p>Alice is pronounced a-lee-chay [aˈliːtʃɛ] like Muhammad <em>Ali </em>and <em>Che </em>Guevara.</p>
